Pampas

It comprises most of the central-east of Argentina, in the provinces of Buenos Aires, south of Santa Fe and south of Córdoba. The climate is temperate, with rains throughout the year, although these are more intense during spring and summer. Once covered by vast and dense grasslands, today the region is mainly farmland, except for some protected areas and vast wetlands, mudflats and tala woods. The Pampas’s grasslands and wetlands are considered excellent prime birding areas. Otamendi National Reserve, Ceibas, Punta Rasa, the Salado depression and several protected areas around Buenos Aires are some excellent places for birding in the legendary Pampas.
