South Atlantic coasts
It extends along the Atlantic coast from Buenos Aires to Tierra del Fuego. It includes widely different areas, from mudflasts and crab-crowded coastal marshes to vast sandy and rocky beaches at the foot of high cliffs, very important for both, resident and migratory bird species. Numerous species of penguins, cormorants, terns, gulls and shorebirds feed and nest along this vast littoral, located mainly in Patagonia. Among many interesting hotspots we can mention Punta Rasa, Bahia Blanca Estuary, Valdes Peninsula, Punta Tombo, Cabo Dos Bahías, Puerto Deseado, Cabo Blanco, Monte León N.P, Río Gallegos Estuary and the Beagle Channel, in Tierra del Fuego.
