Otamendi, Ceibas & South of Entre Ríos
- Duración: 2 a 3 días
At 1 hour-drive from Buenos Aires we find Ciervo de los Pantanos National Park in Otamendi, where the Pampas’ grasslands meet the thorny Espinal woods that grow on the slopes of the sedimentary edge of Parana River and vast wetlands from the iconic Delta, giving birth to a fascinating net of habitats.
The reed and Eryngium beds are the habitat of the almost endemic Straight-billed reedhaunter, Many-colored rush-tyrant, Scarlet-headed blackbird, Crested doradito, Spectacled tyrant, Great Pampa finch, and Rusty-collared seedeater, together with Giant wood-rail and Southern screamer.
Our next destination will be Ceibas, in the south of the province of Entre Ríos, where rural landscapes alternates with birdlife-rich wetlands, grasslands and Espinal habitats, hosting a wide diversity of birds. Among many, we expect to spot Plumbeous ibis, Savanna hawk, Greater rhea, White-fronted woodpecker, Bare-faced ibis, Roseate spoonbill, Stripe-backed bittern, Brown-and-yellow marshbird, Warbling doradito and Nacunda nighthawk, among many others. A bird paradise at 2 hour-drive from Buenos Aires!
